LN Carson:I am so excited this is the first time I've done this, hello everybody!

Question:How does it feel to be famous??
LN Carson:It's intense, everything has been happening so fast, it has completely taken me by surprise!

LN Carson:Right now I'm in a hotel room in L.A.  I'm here to shoot ER, I live in NYC

Question:Do you get along with George Clooney
LN Carson:LOL I met him 3 times and he's wonderful and friendly. Unfortunately i don't get to do too many scenes with him.

Question:Do the people that come in (the patients) look really gruesome on the set?
LN Carson:Fortunately I've missed all that, I'm not into all those blood and guts, luckily my scenes are with Eric!

Question:Do you have any children?..If not do you plan to have any?
LN Carson:I don't have any but I look forward to having 4. I love children and big families.  It's something I'm really looking forward to in my life.

Question:Lisa, who were your Hollywood heroes when you were growing up?
LN Carson:Hmmmmmm lots of them, I enjoyed everything Dianah Ross did, I see a lot of parallels between us -- I'm a singer too.  I love Carol Burnet and Richard Pryor and comedians like Redd Foxx.  Also Cicily Tyson and oh i can't forget Barbra Streisand!

LN Carson:LOL Oh it is incredible they are all pretty cute too, really hot!  <G>

Question:A singer as well?  So then did you really sing in the fox Movie DIVA's?
LN Carson:Yes I did, But it is really not a true testament to my abilities.  I had to conform to being a part of a girl's group, my sound is unique and I usually go solo.

Question:What was your first acting job?
LN Carson:ihad to replace a woman in "Little Shop Of Horrors" in a theatre in Gainesville FL, that's where I went to high school.  It was the part of Ronnette! That was my first, I was only 15 at the time

Question:How many days and hours a week do you have to prepare for the show?
LN Carson:Don't like to over prepare, it loses spontanaity.  I 'll get my script and look over it just enough to learn my lines

Question:Are you going to stay with ER for a while?
LN Carson:I have no idea, we haven't had a discussion as to what they are going to do with the character

Question:When you go out in public are you swamped with fans?
LN Carson:No, I wouldn't say that, more and more everyday but it isn't annoying to me at all...not yet!

Question:Do you have any new projects in the works besides ER?
LN Carson:Yes, Love Jones comes out this weekend and Eve's Bayou comes out in the fall!

Question:Why did you go into the acting buisness?
LN Carson:You can see photos and get information on Love Jones in the Extra area next week!  Well, I was always "going off' so it seemed natural to go for it.  I have been blessed to be able to do what I love most and get paid for it. :-)

Question:It seems as if there are more challenging and rewarding roles for African American women....do you find this to be true?
LN Carson:Yes, yes I do.Thankfully, perfect timing, unfortunately a lot of black actresses in the past missed out because of the timing.  I have been blessed

LN Carson:We filmed in Chicago which is a great city, lots of culture.  We were there for two months and it was cool.

Question:How do you live working with a cast of ER?  Who is your favorite?
LN Carson:Um, well I've only really worked with Eric, Noah and Gloria Rueben.  But they are all fabulous. Eric is cool, i love working with him.  He is a very funny guy full of practical jokes!

LN Carson:I like to write music, i spend most of my time doing that.

LN Carson:LOL.  Okay, that's an unfair question......I like all the boys, okay?  I like all of them!!

LN Carson:By doing everything i could at my elementary school, jr. high, sr. high and local theatre.  Whatever is available to you in the arts.

Question:Lisa, ER is my favorite show!  How does it feel to be on a show that is such a big hit?  What are some of the most emotional times you've had on the set?
LN Carson:For me, in an upcoming episode it really required me to be in a real distraught state.  I was wondering if I would ever be able to do it. It was kind of now or never and it was highly emotional!  It will be on in a couple of weeks

LN Carson:My favorite food-strawberry shortcake.  TV Show-I really liked Northern Exposure,Ellen & Seinfeld, Martin, every FOX show and ER of course!  Favorite Movie-Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf, Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, Godfather, Black Orpheus too.  Favorite color is RED -- and Violet as well.

LN Carson:Definitely! Tate is just an adorable great guy -- Both are very funny and genuine!

LN Carson:When I'm in NY I like to go to the movies and shopping and hang out with my family and very close -- when I'm in LA I go to the beach take long drives, all the great stuff you can do in LA.

LN Carson:Get a sample of the night life, go dancing and the theatre, you have to see at least one Broadway show when you go to New York.

LN Carson:Oh yes -- I wanted to make her a three dimensional person instead of the bafoon stereo type.  When you see all those sides you don't see them as "hoochies" any more.

03/11  "ER's" Lisa Nicole Carson (Globe)

LISA NICOLE CARSON (Josie) followed her feature film debut in "Jason's Lyric" with a co-starring role opposite Denzel Washington in "Devil in a Blue Dress."   Her latest film, "Love Jones," made its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 17, 1997 and will be released nationwide by New Line Cinema on March 14th. Currently appearing on television's number-one drama, "ER," as the love interest of Eriq LaSalle's character Dr. Benton, Lisa's next feature film appearance will be opposite Samuel L. Jackson in "Eve's Bayou."

Theatre-trained, Carson has performed with the Negro Ensemble Company,  the Apollo Theatre, Collaborations Productions, Gateway Playhouse, West Beth Theatre and the Young Playwright's Festival.  For television, she starred in the highly acclaimed Fox presentation "Divas," and she appeared as a cast member on the syndicated comedy-sketch show "Apollo Comedy Hour."
