Luka is packing for his and Abby's honeymoon to Hawaii and Abby is having to
go to work. She was unable to find anyone to cover her shift because of
the short notice. Abby and Luka have only been married five days and she
is happy to be receiving mail addressed to Mrs. Luka Kovac. Luka has
bought Abby a little red bikini to wear on their honeymoon. Morris and
Hope are taking advantage of three free nights in the honeymoon suite at the
Ritz
that Morris had rented as a present for them. Hope giggles in the
bath tub and Morris has Champaign for them to enjoy. It is 8:00 am and
Archie has to be at work in an hour. Hope doesn't have to be in until
4:00 pm. Archie tells her that they are staying another three nights in
the room. She is concerned about the price and Archie tells her that it
has been comped. Archie climbs into the tub with her with his t-shirt
and underwear on.
Pratt is getting coffee at the "Roach Coach" and Bettina
walks by. He tells her that he has figured her out and knows that she is
tired of guys trying to play it cool. She tells him that she has been
dating guys like him for years and knows that he is only after the chase.
"Bettina, I'm not like that anymore", he tells her. "I'm a changed man".
A couple from Boston are in the ER and the wife is experiencing belly pain.
She is there for a physics conference. They have been waiting in traige
for nearly three hours, but Pratt has to check on a patient that paramedic
Pamela Olbes is bringing in. Sam runs in to new ER doc, Larry Weston, who
introduces her to his parents Barb and Len who are visiting from Long Island.
The parents are assuming that Sam is Larry's new girlfriend.

Larry and Sam had made out at Luka and Abby's wedding and
he presumed that they were an item now. Sam tries to set him straight,
but he doesn't take the hint. Sam takes care of Katey's ankle. She
has hurt it while running all over the hospital with a Dr. Moretti. Sam
suggests that a doc needs to look at her ankle and she is okay with it, as
long as it is not Ray. Pratt and Morris talk about their "love
interests" and how well they have been doing. Nobody seems to know where
Ray is. He is late for his shift.
Sam checks on the thirty-five-year-old physicist named
Allison and tells her that she will need to do some blood work, but thinks it
is viral. Her husband James is concerned about her condition worsening
and how long they have been waiting to see Dr. Pratt. Sam is still
avoiding Larry and his parents. Abby is on the phone trying to arrange
for her rental car in Hawaii to be equipped with a child seat. Gates
brings in
Sophia Van Brummelen. She has fallen down a
fifteen foot flight of stairs and her girlfriend is with her. Abby and
Morris assist Gates with her. She begins to have seizures. Sam has
to get on to Pratt for not checking on the physicist. Larry tells Sam
that he will be house sitting for "Luby" while they are away and wants to know
if she would like to sit with him. Morris seems to still be upset with
Gates for what happened at the wedding.
Dr. Dustin
Crenshaw, Mae Lee Park and Dr. Lucien Dubenko are
discussing an audit that Dr. Crenshaw will be conducting, but get interrupted
when they are paged down to the ER. Dubenko and Mae Lee ride down on the
elevator with Neela. They all seem to be uncomfortable around each
other. When they arrive in the trauma room, Mae Lee tells Abby that it
was a nice wedding. "Sorry I got so crazy", she says. Abby does
not know what she is talking about. Two cops come into the room looking
for Megan Strand. She is the girlfriend of the patient who fell down the
stairs. They tell her that the neighbors heard screaming from their
house that morning. She tells them that they were having an argument.
Katey and Dr. Kevin Moretti come down
to the ER to check on the physicist names Allison. He is the clinical
director of the ICU. Moretti argues with Pratt about how he was treating
this patient. Pratt tells him that he can handle his own patients, but
learns that it was Sam that had requested Moretti's Rapid Response team's
help.

Moretti and Pratt explain to Allison and her husband that
she is in shock. Dr. Dubenko comes down with her test results and tells
them that she has an infection in her intestines and that it has created a
hole that needs to be repaired. A man comes in and is concerned about
Allison. James stops him as he is coming toward her. His name is
Blake and seems to have a relationship with Allison. James punches him
in the face and knocks him to the ground and yells, "STAY AWAY FROM MY
WIFE"!!!
Gates takes Sophia to a CT scan and Megan is still very
concerned about her. Abby speaks with Megan and learns how Sophia
tripped down the stairs because Megan left a pair of roller blades at the top
of the stairs. They had been arguing. She tells her that it has
been a bad year. They moved to Chicago five months ago because of
Megan's job and they have been fighting every since. Coming out to her
family and the death of a brother has been very hard on them she explains to
Abby. They have been together for fifteen years.
Pratt is stitching up Blake's head
and Blake tells Pratt how closely he and Allison have been working together.
He is happily married also. They just clicked. James is very
jealous of Blake and Morris explains to James that Blake is his wife's "work
husband". James apologizes to Allison before she is taken upstairs for
surgery. Moretti tells Pratt that he needs to prepare for an M&M.
Moretti feels that Pratt has become complacent by being in the same ER for so
long.
Abby catches up with the cops that
are concerned about Sophia's fall. Abby tells them that she feels that
the injury was due to an accident and does not feel that there has been any
abuse involved. Morris is having to charge three more nights at the
hotel on his card, thinking that it is the only way that Hope will stay with
him. Neela comes down and tells Abby that Sophia has a frontal
parenchymal head bleed. Pratt asks Neela if she has heard from Ray and
she tells him no. Pratt thinks that his schedule may have been confused
since the ER had been closed down for a few days. Tony Gates speaks to
Neela about a patient and then leaves. She seems to be upset that he
hasn't commented about his behavior at the wedding. Gates chases after
her and tells her that she is the one that broke up with him and that she
likes all of the drama. Neela storms off and Larry says to Sam, "Wow, I
hope that never happens to us".

Neela talks with James about his
wife's recovery. Her blood pressure has dropped. Dubenko asks
Neela why she didn't scrub in and she tells him that she didn't think he
wanted her to. Crenshaw is with Mae Lee and she is on her way to the
airport. She thanks them for an amazing experience. "Call me if
you're ever in San Francisco", she tells Neela as she walks away.
"Little freak tried to kiss me at the wedding", Crenshaw tells Neela.
Morris is on the phone ordering two
dozen white tulips for Hope as Abby walks Kovac in for his shift. As
they walk in, Morris
makes the announcement "Hey everyone, for the first time in the ER, Mr. and Mrs.
Luka Kovac"! They applaud. Luka tells them that he has just
attended his last department head meeting and he is no longer their chief.
Dawn comes to get Gates to tell him that there is a lawyer outside asking to
see him. Dubenko apologizes to Abby for tearing up the bidet at the
wedding and she did not realize that there was a bidet there. Chuny
comes to get Abby to tell her that Sophia has lost her pulse. Megan
comes in to see what has happened. Abby has a hunch that she may know
what is wrong with Sophia. She asks Dubenko about her film and thinks
that she may have a pre-existing AVM (arterio-venous malformation). He
tells her to call radiology and find out.
Gates speaks with a lawyer about what rights he has ti gain custody of Sarah.
She tells him that his chances are good. She tells him that his rights are
equal with Sarah's grandparents and this gives him hope. She tells him to
talk with Sarah to make sure that she wants to stay with him. She then
tells him to call the grandparents to let them know.
Bettina and Abby are in radiology with Sophia and Abby's hunch was correct.
Sophia does have an AVM and it should be repairable. Bettina congratulates
Abby on the wedding. Bettina tells Abby that doctors make crummy husbands.
Abby likes going home with someone who understands what she has gone through.
Pratt has come to "check on the patient", but is really there to see Bettina.
He has brought her coffee, but she doesn't drink coffee. She lets Pratt
stay.
Neela has Allison on a gurney and has brought her into the
hallway to to Moretti in the ICU. She is hoping that he can revive her.
She has become worse and she was unable to help her. Moretti
accuses Neela and the surgical staff of giving him Allison so if she died, it
would be ICU’s fault and not surgery. He knows that Dubenko doesn't want
to mess up his numbers. James watches on and is worried that she might
die. Moretti tells him that she can use all the support that he can give
her and that Blake should be by her side also.

Allison is back in her room and Moretti tells James that
his wife's blood pressure is still dangerously low. Blake is by her side
also and Moretti tells them that the part of the brain that controls the blood
pressure does not seem to be functioning properly. She received forty-five
minutes of CPR. The husband is upset about how long they had to wait
before they were seen. James asks Moretti and Neela to leave. James
tells Blake that before she went into surgery she had asked him to give Blake
something. Neela and Moretti look on and wonder what it was that he had
given him. Moretti thinks that he must be data. "I just want us all
to do better. I'm sick of seeing people die", he tells her.
Abby tells Megan that Sophia's AVM has been fixed and that
she should be getting back to normal. Gates extubates her and Megan tells
her how sorry she was to have pushed her down the stairs. Abby and Gates
look on in confusion. Morris call the hotel and is ordering chocolate
covered strawberries to the room and learns that Hope has checked out.
Hope walks in to the ER and tells Archie that she had them refund his card.
She loved all of the pampering, but it is time to get back to real life.
"I don't want our crazy wedding fling to end", he tells her. She tells him
that she didn't say anything about it ending. She reassures him that they
are still together. She tells him that it wasn't a fling and kisses him.
Neela is still concerned that Ray didn't call.
Moretti is looking for Dr. Pratt. He tells Pratt about all of the patients
that went through the ER and wasn't taken care of. "We can do better for
these people", Moretti tells him. Neela goes to Ray's apartment and finds
that he is not there. His fish have not been taken care of. Sarah
and Gates are on the bridge and Sarah is telling him about her day, but he is
not listening to her. He tells her that he wants her to stay with him.
He wants to be her dad and she wants that too. He tells her that he loves
her and that she is his family. He wants her to stay with him if she wants
to. She laughs and hugs him.
Abby comes home and Luka and Joe are watching a soccer
game. He was speaking Croatian to him. Luka gets a call and speaks
Croatian. You can see that it is an upsetting phone conversation.
Moretti is walking away from the ER and has called Dr. Anspaugh. He tells
him over the phone that he has changed his mind and that he will do it. He
grins and walks away.
