This episode starts with Ames in Abby’s apartment. Ames wants Abby to call Luka, Abby argues with him to “just go” Ames gets upset and Abby realizes he has a gun. Joe keeps crying.

Ben and Sam are in bed. Ben smells something burning. He opens the door and flames are everywhere

We cut to Tony and Neela arriving to help Meg. It appears that she has overdosed.
Luka is at the police station trying to bail Pratt out of jail. Abby calls Luka. He wants to know what’s wrong but Abby can’t say anything since Ames is listening in on the conversation. Luka said he would come home.

Fire trucks arrive at Sam’s apartment. Ben realizes that Sam is still in the building.

Ames and Abby have a conversation. Ames starts taking about Joe and his own son. Abby just wants Ames to leave. Ames tells Abby how successful she is with the Husband, her career her son. Abby says  he’s “wrong” Abby tells him that “Happiness was something that she thought she was never going to find.” And that “things can get better” Ames doesn’t want to listen and asks for some Bourbon

Cut to the ambulance arrives to get Meg to the hospital  Meg pulls Tony over and tells him that Sarah is his. Tony seems shocked.

Pratt is waiting to be bailed out of Jail. He talks to one of the inmates. His spiritual adviser comes.

Back to the fire at Sam’-- Sam is still in the building and a man is in there with chest burns. Alex, Sam, Ben, and Gracie arrive at the hospital. Mr. Owens is brought in and he has chest burns.

Luka comes home; he is surprised to see Ames, who appears to be drunk. Ames wants to take Luka on a “ride” Abby does not want Luka to go and says “No, don’t do this.” Abby is scared. Ames tells Abby “thanks for the talk” As soon as they leave Abby calls 911.

Meg crashes. Tony tells Sarah to go with Neela in the car. Sarah doesn’t want to.

Ames and Luka go for a ride in the Cab. Luka offers him money but Ames won’t talk.

Back at Abby’s, she wants things to get moving. She gets annoyed when the cops don’t know about Ames. Abby tells the neighbor to take Joe upstairs.  Abby tells the cop to “catch up” She says she’s going to County to get his records.

Back at County, Sam, Morris and ray are working on Mr. Owens. Sam feels terrible.

Neela and Sarah are in the Car. Sarah wants to know if Megs is going to be okay.

Sam fixes Mr. Owens and Sam checks on Gracie and Alex. Gracie wants to know what happens. Gracie says Alex didn’t say anything. Sam says “If it is what I think, it scares the hell out of me.”

Abby and the Cop arrive at County. Abby tells Frank to pull Ames’ chart.

Ames and Luka arrive at house. Luka tells Ames that he isn’t the type to use a gun. Ames hits Luka in the face with the gun and replies “You see, I used it.” They talk about Ames family.

Tony and Ray are working on Meg. She is dead, but Tony keeps doing compressions. Sarah talks to her Mom and tells her that she has to survive and that she says “you always said we were survivors” Meg dies.

Pratt is bails out of jail. Pratt is mad that he didn’t shut down the clinic.

Sarah wants Tony to fix Meg. Sarah yells at Neela that Meg doesn’t want her here. Tony stops CPR and Meg dies. Sarah is really upset. Tony starts crying. Sarah cries that she has to wakeup.

Luka and Ames arrive at Ames old house. Ames says he is going to show Luka “something really beautiful” Ames says this could have been something beautiful and starts explaining the house. Luka wants Ames to tell him what he wants.  Ames gets upset and tells Luka to put his hand into a vice. Luka doesn’t want to and Ames shoots the floor. Luka agrees and Ames tells him to “tighten it” Luka does.

Abby and the Cop are at county. They know where the car is. Abby wants to go with the cop. The cop tells Abby to stay and says “you need to trust us now”.

Ames asks if it hurts. And Ames pulls the lever to tighten it all the way. This crushes Luka’s hand. Ames asks to describe it.  Luka says he feels the metacarpals crashing and the digital nerves being compressed, etc. Luka wants pleads for him to stop. Ames wants him to know how he feels. Luka says he can’t do anything without his hands, he’s a
doctor. He has a wife and a child. He says he won’t be able to take care of his family. Ames starts yelling when he realizes the cops are surrounded his house.

Abby pulls up to Ames’ house and wants to be let through. She brought Ames’ medical records. She says her husband is in there. The Cop says he doesn’t think the records will help. Ames brings Luka up to the roof. Abby doesn’t understand why Ames is doing this. Ames and Luka are talking on the roof. Luka tells him that “it’s time to let it go.” Luka’s cell phone rings and Ames says to put it on speaker. The negotiator wants to know if Ames wants anything. Ames says that He wants them to go away. Abby is listening to the conversation. Luka admits that he made mistakes about Ames treatment. Luka points the gun at Luka. The camera cuts back to Abby when two gun shots go off. Abby starts running. She wants to help but the cop grabs her. Abby hears that there is a man down. Abby insists on being let through and says, “she’s an ER doc” She sees Luka walking down the steps and runs to hug him. The camera cuts back to the roof where Curtis Ames’ lies dead. Ames has committed suicide. The camera goes black.
