Luka is in his apartment when the
cleaning lady comes, he tells her to leave but she wants to stay because Sam
told her to come every Thursday. Luka tells her that Sam does not live there
anymore.
Kerry
is talking to two grant officers when Morris interrupts her. Kerry goes to talk
to him and he complains about the new nurse manager, Eve. She is holding a nurse
meeting and Morris isn’t happy about it, Kerry doesn’t care so she goes back to
giving the two grant officers a tour. Morris goes to go break up the meeting but
Eve continues and he gives up. Kerry is showing the grant officers the ambulance
bay, she asks Tony to show them the rig because she sees Luka walking in late.
As they are talking a man with severe skin burns runs up and falls. Abby asks
Morris how it went when he was straightening the nurses out and it obviously
didn’t work. Kerry and Luka run in with the burn victim and Weaver asks someone
to check on the two grant officers because they seemed "a little freaked."
Neela is putting together a box of things for Gallant. While
working on the burn victim Sam has trouble getting a line in. Eve asks her
questions while she’s trying to get the line which is making her uncomfortable
so Kerry escorts Eve out of the trauma room. Neela helps Penny with a singer man
who is wearing a human anatomy suit, the man tells Penny that the whole human
anatomy is right in front. of her but Neela intervenes and tells him that its
not. Neela tries to take a picture of Abby for Gallants ‘care package’ but Abby
holds her hand up so Neela gives her the picture. Abby looks at the picture and
says to her self how brutal the lighting is inside the hospital and throws the
picture away. Luka finds Sam in the drug lockup, he gives her the mail. He wants
to talk about what happened between them but she does not. Abby walks in and Sam
leaves.
A young boy named Robbie is brought into the ER. He had
crashed his motor scooter. Luka and Sam bring him into a trauma room, he has a
mouth full of blood and a few missing teeth, they need to intubate him when
Pratt and Penny come in. A woman on roller skates is in the adjoining room so
Luka goes in to see her and leaves Pratt with Robbie. She is the one who ran
into the kid on the motor scooter and Luka thinks that she may have internal
bleeding. Pratt tries to intubate Robbie but it does not work. Dubenko gets
called down and explains to Luka that she does not have internal bleeding and
there is nothing surgical. They do a fiber-optic intubation instead and the boys
mother comes in. The woman tells them that she has cancer and no one can get an
iv in. Eve wants Luka to come into the other trauma room but he does not go.
Abby asks the woman if she took anything so she tells about when she went to
Mexico for the cancer. She has lead poisoning so Luka goes into the other trauma
but he is no longer needed.
Pratt
wants to send a deep dish pizza to Iraq but Neela doesn’t think it’s a good idea
so he takes a picture instead. Robbie comes down from C.T. but they need to do a
trach and Eve lectures Luka about what nurses should and shouldn’t do. Neela
talks to Abby about what she is going to send to Gallant because she doesn’t
know, she wrote a poem and lets Abby read it. Abby thinks its cheesy and tells
Neela to meet her in the family room. Abby is taking pictures of Neela. Morris
is outside the room trying to look in and the girl dressed up as a power ranger
shoots him in the leg with a fake gun.
Abby talks to Ms. Lowenstein about treatments for the cancer
but she doesn’t really want to be treated surgically. Robbie’s father comes into
the ER, Luka wants to talk to him about his sons condition but he only wants to
see him. He runs into the trauma room and Luka explains his condition and about
the swelling in his brain. The mother tells her husband, Jack, that she’s sorry
but he knocks her down, Luka steps in and the new nurse, Inez, yells for
security. Kerry sutures Luka’s head and she explains that she has to work shifts
because they are down on faculty. Frank is eating Pratt’s
pizza and Morris comes up to Neela and tells her that he minored in photography
and that he wants to see some of the pictures since they took time out of their
work to do it. Neela gives him a picture "just because your so cute". Turns out
it’s a cost abbess on the 400 pound guys rear. Kerry looks at the picture and
tells Morris that its leaking so he should go check it out.
Luka finds Sam outside and they talk about what’s going on.
When Luka leaves Eve comes up behind Sam and tells her that she should work
different shifts than Luka but Sam disagrees. Abby sees Luka in a bar and they
talk. Luka is drunk and Abby gives him a ride back to his house. Back at Neela
and Rays apartment Neela is writing a letter listening to Ray and his girlfriend
in the opposite room. They’re really loud so she shouts through the wall that
she cant concentrate but the noise starts up again so she gives up. Abby looks
around Luka’s apartment and tells him that he should think about getting a
housekeeper but he fell asleep.
