Kerry and her attorney talk about how they will proceed in the custody hearing.  Carter goes to the airport to pickup Kim.  Neela is impressing the lab members.  Abby’s therapy group reconvenes for another meeting.  When a patient isn’t there during role call, Abby asks what happened to him.  The other members say he killed himself.  They all say that everybody loves her sessions; everybody except the dead guy.

Monday – Kerry is packing a suitcase and is on the phone with a travel agency when Elizabeth drops by with Ella’s old baby clothes.  Elizabeth becomes worried when she sees the suitcase and tells Kerry not to do anything she might regret.  Abby admits a psychic patient.  Mrs. Dunn returns with another factious seizure.  Abby tries to get Mr. Dunn to admit his wife.  Elizabeth asks Abby to talk to Kerry about Henry.  Kim and Carter come home.  Kerry comes into work and waits with Henry in the lounge.  Abby assures Kerry that Henry is going to end up with her.  Abby convinces Jordan Dunn to admit herself to Psych.  Mrs. Lopez and her attorney come to pick up Henry.  When Abby can’t find Dr. Weaver, Mrs. Lopez and her attorney become confrontational.  Abby finds Kerry out in the ambulance bay with Henry.  Mrs. Lopez takes Henry away with her attorney.

Wednesday – Kim asks John if they are ready to have a baby.  John tells her that they are.  A social worker comes to talk to Jordan.  Carter brings Kim to his board meeting with Gamma’s Foundation.  Kim meets Carter’s father.  Carter turns Gamma’s house into a conference center for Northwestern.  Carter’s father is angry with Carter and expresses his hope for them to get married.  Francis, the Dunn’s neighbor, brings their daughter by the Psych ward.  Jordan goes into seizure while holding the baby.

Friday – Neela and Pratt treat a burger flipper named Elgin Gibbs with burnt hands.  He is young and his blood pressure is extremely high.  Pratt asks him if he is doing any drugs and he denies it.  Neela runs up to the lab to check on a project.  Kovac runs into Sam as he is leaving.  Yuri and Colin are doing an illegal study on humans with Ketamine, a hallucinogenic drug.  Yuri is high on Ketamine and Colin is recording data.  Neela tells them that it is illegal and that it is stupid.  Abby and Jordan talk about her past.  Abby tells her how she has never been able to follow through in her life; in med school, in relationships, and with her family.  In return, Jordan tells Abby about a previous son, Charlie, who died eight years before.  Yuri goes into SVT.  Neela takes Yuri to the ER.  Pratt and Neela bring Yuri back to normal sinus.  Elgin Gibbs’ tox screen is negative.  His BP is still high.  Elgin helps his mother support his brothers.

Monday – Abby asks Jordan to talk about Charlie.  Abby wants to use Amatol to open up Jordan’s subconscious.  Yuri is dressed down by his supervisor.  Abby and Jordan start the Amatol therapy.  Jordan tells Abby about how her previous boyfriend used to hit her and mistreat Charlie.  She also says that one day the baby wouldn’t be quiet and she hugged Charlie so tight that he suffocated.  Jordan is worried that she is going to hurt Carolyn.  Elizabeth calls Kerry at home to offer her support.  Kerry sits on her couch and listens to Elizabeth record the message on her message machine.  Because Jordan says she accidentally killed Charlie, the social worker has to follow up on the death.  The Psych resident tells Abby that she is a good physician.  He wants to help her study for her boards.  She says it’s too late because she is going to take them at the moment.  Abby signs in at the boards test center and begins her test.

NBC Review

DR. WEAVER MAY LOSE BABY WHILE DR. CARTER MAKES WAVES IN FAMILY FORTUNE; THANDIE NEWTON RETURNS TO GUEST-STAR -- A panic-stricken Dr. Weaver (Laura Innes) faces a life-defining moment when she is ordered to give up her son to the Lopez family while Dr. Carter (Noah Wyle) greets a returning Kem (guest star Thandie Newton, "Mission: Impossible 2") -- but their meeting with his father (guest star Michael Gross, "Family Ties") is tense after Carter anounces plans for his grandmother's estate. Elsewhere, Abby (Maura Tierney) is in the midst of her psychiatric rotation and tries to help a seizure-prone mother (as Jordan, guest star TBA) with a controversial drug treatment. Meanwhile, Neela (Parminder Nagra) impresses everyone with her lab research, especially when she helps one of the reckless students (as Yuri, guest star TBA) after he experiments on himself. In addition, Dr. Kovac's (Goran Visnjic) relationship with Sam (Linda Cardellini) and her son Alex (guest star TBA) grows awkward when Alex' father returns. Alex Kingston, Ming-Na and Mekhi Phifer also star.

TV Guide Review

April 29, 2004: Abby Normal: Kerry considers drastic action to keep Lopez's folks from taking custody of Henry; Abby resorts to unconventional measures with a mom suffering from psych-related seizures; Pratt lays into Neela for avoiding the ER to work in a lab, where her skills come in handy after a colleague toys with a bad medicine; and Carter impresses Kem — but annoys his father — with a shake-up at his family's foundation.
