Corday and the teacher she is dating
have dinner. Sam drops by Luka’s apartment unexpectedly. Luka has just got
out of the shower and turns down Sam’s dinner offer. Luka is seeing Jillian
behind Sam’s back. She was in the shower with him.
Morris
and Abby treat an altered patient that complains that he is in so much pain
that he can’t walk. Morris doesn’t want to have psych admit him and when Abby
asks him if he is having any suicidal thoughts, he says he isn’t going to kill
himself; he’s going to kill Morris. He leaves AMA. Sam comes in for her
shift. Frank makes a sexist and racist comment about one of Neela’s patients,
spurring Neela to call him a bigot and wish for him to never talk again. Sam
has Luka take a look at a teenager with right-sided testicular pain. Doris
Pickman brings in a man with brain damage. His daughter takes care of him at
home. Sam and Luka argue over the teenager’s treatment. When Luka raises his
voice, Sam asks if he is mad about her coming over the night before. She
apologizes for telling him that she wanted to keep it casual in their
relationship. She suggests that becoming serious might be the way to go.
Abby hears that somebody has stolen a tank from the National Guard in
Chicago. She grabs Morris and drags him to the TV at admit. The man who
stole the tank is the psych patient that wanted to kill Morris.
Corday
puts in a new pickline on the man with brain damage. Dr. Lawson had come down
to replace his pickline and when he sees that it has already be done, he asks
for Corday to call him when it gets infected. He then asks Corday out to
dinner. Carter and Pratt are watching the tank’s progress on the TV as
Weaver comes in with a police officer. The teenager’s tests come back
positive for Chlamydia. Kovac tells him to tell the girls he’s been sleeping
with to get treated. Jillian comes in and kisses Luka in front of Sam.
Carter takes care of a man that was hit by the M60 tank. Neela asks Frank to
find the man’s wife. Frank is winded when he gets on the phone. He grabs his
chest and slumps to the floor, having a heart attack. The man’s son is
freaking out and is tossing around. Pratt tries to intubate him but can’t
stop him from moving. Sam opens the door to the next trauma room so he can
see his father. The boy calms down. Neela goes out into the hall to make a
call and finds Frank on the floor. Pratt and Carter come out to help Neela.
The police officer suggests that Kerry evacuate the hospital. The teenager
comes back with the girls that are possibly infected. Sam asks the man with
brain damage if he wants to be treated.
Frank
wakes up in the Cath. Lab while he is being operated on Doctor Kayson. Frank
asks Pratt to stay with him. Abby, Chuny, and Carter watch as the ambulance bay
is blocked off by snow plows. Abby is beating herself up about not picking up
on the tank man’s condition. Frank’s wife and daughter come running in asking
about him. Carter tells them that Frank had a heart attack and Neela takes them
up to see him. Sam tells Dr. Chen that the brain-damaged man doesn’t want to be
treated. He loses his pulse and Carter and Chen keep treating him. Frank tells
Pratt about his experiences during the Vietnam War. Frank perforates his
heart. The brain-damaged man’s heart beings to beat again. Neela comes up to
ask about Frank. Pratt sucks out the pressurized blood around Frank’s heart
with a syringe. Morris, Abby, and other ER members watch as the tank arrives at
the hospital. The tank can’t get past the barrier in the ambulance bay. The
turret begins to turn as SWAT team members climb onto the tank. They open the
hatch, through a grenade in and then shot the man.
Abby rushes out to bring the psych man in. Carter intubates
him and Morris puts in a chest tube. Carter takes him up to surgery. Jillian
returns as Luka is leaving. Neela waits with Frank’s family. Frank’s wife
tells Neela about how Frank always talks about how well she is doing in med
school. She says he always comes home with stories about work. Sam goes to
talk to the daughter of the brain-damaged man. The daughter tells Sam about how
her father used to come home to have sex with her after work. Luka breaks up
with Jillian because she is going back to Montreal. Pratt tells Frank that the
surgery went well as his family comes in to see him. Luka meets Sam and Alex at
her apartment. He apologizes for how he acted. Sam goes inside as he leaves.
She comes back out and asks him to come in.

PSYCHO PATIENT STEALS TANK TO WREAK HAVOC WHILE SAM IS
JEALOUS OF DR. KOVAC'S FRENCH FRIEND -- A psychotic patient (as Welling, guest
star James Leo Ryan) makes good on his promise to punish the medicos when he
steals an Army tank and grinds his way across Chicago towards the hospital while
Sam (Linda Cardellini) grows jealous of Dr. Kovac's (Goran Visnjic) visiting
French friend Gillian (guest star Simone-Elise Girard) -- and one of the E.R.
staffers suffers a heart attack. Elsewhere, Kovac is startled at the lack of
concern among some 13-year-olds who are diagnosed with chylamidia; Sam ponders
the curious relationship between a concerned teenaged girl and her sick father
who is in full cardiac arrest, and Dr. Corday (Alex Kingston) is enchanted with
a charming fellow surgeon (as Lawson, guest star Paul Blackthorne).
