ABBY AND DR. ROMANO GET
TROUBLING NEWS WHILE TEEN GIRLS ARE STRUCK BY
ERRANT AUTO -- Abby (Maura Tierney) is
distraught when she learns that her mentally
troubled brother is missing while flying over
the Great Lakes, a desperate Dr. Romano (Paul
McCrane) gets some depressing news and the
hospital staff is confronted with numerous
teenaged girls who are run down by a fellow
female student suffering from a rare disease
that might have caused the tragedy. Elsewhere,
Dr. Chen's (Ming-Na) relationship with Dr. Pratt
(Mekhi Phifer) takes a new turn; a daughter
wants to take extreme measures to keep her
extremely elderly mother alive; Dr. Weaver
(Laura Innes) gets a promotion from a grateful
alderman (guest star Bruce Weitz, "Hill Street
Blues") and Dr. Lewis (Sherry Stringfield)
ponders her pending blind date with a hunk. Noah
Wyle and Sharif Atkins also star.
