A boy named Zavery is brought in after falling out of a tree that he climbed.  He is acting like a monkey and his mom tells Abby that he is acting out and that it is okay.  Abby asks Dr. Lewis to help her with him.  Susan tells her to take him and that she will be right with them.  Susan checks on her other patient, Aidan.  Susan sees his letterman jacket and sees that he is a wrestler.  He asks her what she does to stay in shape and she tells him that she does bicep curls.  He then asks how much she can lift and she tells him that sometimes she can lift a whole pitcher of margaritas.

Luka is with a patient who has trouble breathing and his lungs are bad.  The man blames the cigarettes that he has been smoking for his ailments.  He wants Luka to write up a full disclosure, so that he can file a lawsuit against the tobacco companies.  Luka tells him that he should spend his time more productive and try to enjoy the time that he has left.  He tells him that he needs to take responsibility for it, since he has been smoking since he was a teenager.  The man gets offended and tells Luka that the HMO's and the tobacco companies are all in this together and that he will see Luka in court.  Luka tells him that no he will not, and the man replies, "You don't think I will take you to court?"  Luka tells him that he won't live that long.  Kerry sees Luka walking away from the patient and she asks him what that was all about?  Luka tells her stupidity.  "On whose part, his or yours"?, she asks.  Luka asks what is it with this country?  Everybody is always looking for someone else to blame and to sue.  Frank hears him and replies, "If you don't like it, go back to Croatia.  Not near as many lawyers.  Lot more land mines though".  The paramedics bring in Brenda Walton.  She is a twenty-two-year-old with a hand injury.  Luka tends to her.

Romano comes down and heads to Kerry.  She thinks that he is wanting to argue about something, seeing how he just storms down right to her yelling her name.  She is really surprised, as is everyone else standing around the admit. desk, when he plants a long kiss right on her lips.  He tells her that she has "Out-Weavered" herself this time.  The hospital was just allotted 2.4 million dollars in new funding.  Kerry is surprised, but not as surprised as when she finds out who it is from.  Romano tells her that Alderman Bright is responsible for it and that he will be coming to the ER for some photo opportunities.  Kerry assures Romano that he awarded the money solely on the way that he was treated and the way he saw the other patients treated.  Romano doesn't care why, he is just glad that he did and tells Kerry not to ruin the moment for him.

Pratt is working out in his apartment when Leon comes and bangs on the door telling him to let him in.  Pratt opens the door to find Leon's thug friend on the floor up against the wall.  He has been shot and Leon wants "G" to go get his doctor stuff and fix him up like he did for him.  Pratt tells Leon that Biz has a chest wound and will need to go to the hospital.  Biz tells him no hospitals, that they will be looking for him.  Pratt learns from Leon that they were holding up a liquor store and that a security guard showed up and started shooting at them.  Pratt tells Leon to go inside and shut the door.  Do not look out the windows and do not open the door if anyone comes by.  "You understand me?  Leon!"

Romano walks into the lounge and is happy to see a med. student hitting the books.  He asks Gallant what he is reading and Romano knows the material well.  Romano grabs his cup of coffee, that he has just prepared, and tells Gallant that nothing has changed.  Just then, Romano drops his cup of coffee to the floor.  Gallant stands up and asks him if he is okay?  Romano tells him that he has got it and Gallant leaves and tells him that he will get someone from housekeeping to come and mop it up.  Romano stands there for a moment and stares at his hand.

Luka, Carter and Abby are working on Brenda's hand.  It has been caught in a trap.  Abby explains that she was demonstrating the cruelty of fur trapping at the university.  As Carter is helping Luka remove the trap, Luka asks him if he has made up his mind between Chechnya or the Congo?  Carter looks a little funny, but not as funny as Abby looks when she hears this.  Carter tells Luka that he is still thinking about it.  Abby asks, "Thinking about what?"  Luka happily fills her in on what they are discussing.  He tells her that Carter is going away with Alliance de Medicine Internacionale.  Carter tells her that it is something he is thinking about doing in the spring.  Carter seems to be a little upset with Luka and asks if he is finished with the hand and then leaves the room.  Abby quickly follows after him.

Romano speaks with his doctor about the problems he is having with his arm.  The doctor tells him that it is to be expected.  His limb was severed and he is lucky to have what he has.  Romano finds this hard to accept.  Abby finds Carter and wants to know why he didn't tell her about Chechnya?  Carter tells her that they had discussed it.  She tells him, "No we didn't".  He reminds her that he mentioned that he would like to practice medicine abroad.  She replies that she thought he was talking about in Paris or something.  He tells her that they desperately needs doctors there and she lets him know that they desperately need doctors here also.  Carter smells something bad and Frank tells him that Dr. Lewis got hit with flying feces.  Jing-Mei loans Susan her sweater to wear.  Susan asks Abby to set up a Wood's lamp so that she can check the "monkey boy's" eye for a cornial abrasion.  Abby asks her if he is still armed and dangerous?  Susan tells her that she thinks he is out of ammo.  Gallant tells Carter that he saw his doctor friend in triage.  Carter asks, "McNulty"?  Gallant tells him that he looks altered.  The paramedics bring in a thirty-two-year-old woman named Doreen Brant who took a header down a flight of stairs.  Susan tells Abby to give her to Luka, so that she can go and change her sweater.

The police asks Susan if she knows where Sutter is?  She is not sure who he is and they explain that he was shot during a robbery attempt and is suppose to be on his way in to the ER.  Susan asks Frank and he tells them that a shooting victim is on their way in, but they didn't say anything about him being a cop.  He will call dispatch to find out.  Romano comes down for a surgical consult.  This surprises Susan and she tells Romano that she didn't know that he was doing consults again.  He smarts off to her and she takes him to her patient, Aidan Finwick.  Romano sees that he has used steroids and Susan tells him that he has quit.  Romano tells him that it is a good thing.  If he doesn't, his testicles are going to shrink down to the size of raisins.  Susan tells Romano that upon examination, she felt a perirectal component.  Romano tells the patient that infection has spread up along his rectum and that he will need surgery to have the infection cleaned out.  Romano takes the patient toward the elevator and Susan is concerned about who will perform the surgery.  Romano tells her that he will supervise one of his residents during the surgery.  Susan replies, "That is what I was afraid of."  Officer Jason Sutter is rolled in.  He is thirty-nine-years-old and he heard four shots and felt two hits he tells them.  Kerry tells Susan to page Corday.

Gallant and Carter check on Dr. McNulty.  Carter sees that he is not well and needs to be treated.  Malik tells Carter that another GSW is rolling in.  Abby is trying to get Zavery down from jumping on the bed.  Susan walks in and he heads under the bed.  Susan tells him that she won't be able to use the "Gorilla scope" if he doesn't come out.  Zavery immediately comes out from under the bed and lies down as told.  Susan takes the Wood's lamp and Abby turns the lights out.  She sees that his eye is okay and that there are no abrasions.  Abby looks at Susan's sweater and sees a glowing spot.  Abby asks her if it is semen?  Susan tells her that it is not her sweater and then says, "Oh Gross"!

Carter goes to the ambulance bay for the GSW.  The door opens up from the ambulance and Carter sees Pratt with the victim.  As they head in to the ER, the cop looks at Pratt, as Pratt looks back at him.  Carter asks Pratt if it is a friend of his and Pratt replies, "We're not all related you know".  Pratt follows Carter into the trauma room as they work on the victim.  Carter asks Pratt if he knows his name?  Pratt tells him that he doesn't know, "Cops got his wallet".  The cop tells Carter that he is Biz Cummins.  "What's with all the boys in blue?", Pratt asks.  Malik tells him that a cop got shot and that the victim may have been the one who shot him.  Pratt looks over into the next trauma room and sees them working on the cop.

Luka, Corday and Kerry are working on Officer Sutter.  Elizabeth is on the phone telling the OR that they have two criticals coming up and that they will need a vascular surgeon.  A cop comes in and asks Sutter if he got a good look at the guy who shot him?  Sutter tells him that there were three of them, but he doesn't know which one pulled the trigger.  The cop asks him to look over at the victim in the room beside him to see if he is one.  Pratt is in the way and the officer tells him to move.  Pratt tells him that they are busy trying to save his life.  Luka tells the cop that he isn't going anywhere.  The cop replies, "But his other two buddies are on the loose".  Corday goes in to where Carter and Pratt are and tells them that only one OR is available and they assess the patient to see which is more critical.  It will be thirty minutes before another OR is available.  Pratt seems to want the cop t go up first.  As Sutter is taken up to the OR, the cop asks Pratt when Biz will be able to talk with them about what happened and answer some questions?  Pratt tells him that he will let them know.

Abby and Susan tend to a young girl named Helen who is complaining of abdominal pain.  Helen tells them that she thinks that it is a tumor.  Abby asks Susan if she is going to ask about the sweater?  Susan doesn't want to, but Abby wants to know.  Susan tells Helen that they think she may have gallstones and that she will need to have some tests run.  Abby tells Susan that the real question is who it (the spot) belongs to?  "Pratt?  Frank?  Jerry?"  Susan gets disgusted.

Romano is assisting his resident in the OR with Aidan.  The resident isn't doing to well under his guidance and Shirley asks Romano if he would like her to call Corday?  He tells her NO!  Corday is in surgery with Sutter and she is wondering where the vascular surgeon is.  She is told that Dr. Dorset is on his way and Corday wonders who he is.  He is the new guy, she is told.  Dorset arrives and Corday fills him in on the patient's condition.  She tells him that it is going to take a lot of time to work on.  He replies, "They call me "Fast Eddie" for a reason".  Corday is surprised that he wants to perform a Fogarty Embolectomy.  He tells her that he prefers to call it the "Dorset Bulletectomy".  He explains the procedure with Corday and is a bit flirtatious with her.  She can see that he is very arrogant.

Erin Harkins is in the ER and Gallant and Susan are speaking with her.  Susan asks Gallant to check on a patient for her and he and Erin walk down the hall.  As Gallant turns to go and check on the patient, Luka catches up to Erin.  Luka asks her if she is feeling better?  She tells him that she is better than the last time that he saw her.  She asks him that she needs his signature for her resident's review and he signs it for her.  He tells her that he is sorry about what happened.  He was having a bad time.  He asks what her next rotation is and she tells him pediatrics.  She doesn't really want to chat with him, so she leaves.

Pratt tries to get Leon on the phone, but doesn't have any luck.  The cops come down the hall and ask Pratt how Sutter is doing?  He tells them that he is still in surgery.  They also ask him about how and where he found Biz.  Malik comes after Pratt and tells him that Biz's pressure is dropping.  Pratt runs to him and tells Malik to go and get Carter.

Abby asks Carter when he is leaving her to run off to the jungle?  He tells her that he really hasn't decided what he is going to do.  Carter tells her that she was excited when Luka did it.  She tells him that Luka went home to his own country and he didn't have a girlfriend asking him not to go.  Carter tells her that she should go with him.  "Like I don't have enough drama in my life already", she sarcastically replies.  Gallant is checking McNulty's pressure as Abby and Carter walk up.  "Well, well, well...If it isn't the Ken and Barbie of the medical world", Mcnulty exclaims as Carter and Abby walk up.  Carter tells him that he is looking better.  Gallant tells Carter that his blood sugar level was over six hundred.  McNulty tells Carter that he gave a patient his medicine because the patient couldn't afford to buy his own.  Dori comes and tells Carter that he is needed by Pratt.  Carter arrives to find that Biz is crashing.  Leon shows up and brings him to where Pratt is.  He is asking to speak with Pratt and that it is very important.  Pratt tells him that he shouldn't be there.  He tells Abby to take him to the suture room and Abby asks him what for?  Pratt tells her that he is there for a wound check.  "Make sure you put a gown on him", Pratt tells her.  "Is he going to die "G", Leon asks?  "Get him out of here NOW!", Pratt tells Abby again.

Pratt and Carter are still working on Biz.  He has been down for thirty-five minutes.  Pratt asks Carter if he is ready to call it?  Pratt calls the time of death and then he goes in and tells Leon.  Romano and his resident, Jensen, are still working on Aidan.  Elizabeth comes in and checks on them.  She tells Robert that she heard they were having some difficulties.  He tells her that she was misinformed.  She tells Robert that she didn't realize that he was back on surgical rotation.  He tells her that he is just assisting Jensen.  Corday asks Jensen how it is going?  She is concerned that the nerve that runs along side might get cut by accident.  She asks Jensen if he would like her to scrub in?  Romano quietly tells her no and then to leave, which she does.

A girl named Sydney is being treated by Kovac, Susan and Abby.  Her friend Fiona arrives and they ask her what happened?  The tox screen was negative and there wasn't any pill fragments found.  They pumped her stomach and all they found were some nuts and the smell of chocolate.  Fiona tells them that Sydney found out that her boyfriend was cheating on her, so she went on a banana-split spree.  Sydney called 911, so that she could get her stomach pumped.  Fiona tells them that sometimes Sydney binges and purges.  Luka is upset about it and tells Fiona, "She just cost the hospital three hundred bucks for what?  So she doesn't put on a pound?"  Susan tells Luka that she obviously has an eating disorder.  Luka storms out and Fiona says, "It's cheaper than liposuction".

Pratt walks up and sees Carter in the room with Leon.  Pratt asks him what he is doing there?  Carter tells him that he was just checking on Leon.  He seems to be a little shaken up about Biz.  Pratt tells Carter that Leon is his patient and to leave.  Carter tells Pratt to see him when he is finished and then Carter leaves the room.  Pratt asks Leon what all he told Carter.  Leon tells him that he don't know.  Pratt is afraid that Leon is going to tell too much information.  Pratt questions Leon about what all happened and Leon is too confused to remember.  Leon cries and repeatedly tells "G" that he doesn't want to go to jail.

Susan talks with Luka about why he is having such a bad day.  Luka seems to be fed up with everything.  Susan sees Abby and tells her that she needs to have a talk with him.  Abby is mad at Luka for putting the whole "adventure doctor" idea in Carter's head.  Corday comes down and tells Susan and Abby that Mr. Sutter is going to be okay.  Dr. Dorset comes down and finds Elizabeth.  She doesn't recognize him at first without his surgical mask.  She asks if everything is okay with Mr. Sutter and he tells her yes.  He just came down to ask her if she would like to go out for coffee or something with him?  She hesitates and then tells him that she appreciates the offer, but she is swamped at the moment.  "Perhaps some other time", she tells him.  "I'm going to hold you to that", he replies as he walks away.  "I like coffee", Susan jokes as Abby chuckles with her.  "Was I rude?", Elizabeth asks.  Abby and Susan simultaneously respond, "No".  Elizabeth explains that when she goes home, she expects to find Mark in the back yard playing with Ella.  It has been a long time since she has spoken with another man.  "I think Mark would want you to get on with your life", Susan tells her.  "I also think if a good looking guy is interested in you and you're not interested in him, the least you can do is introduce me", Susan jokes.  Elizabeth smiles and walks away and tells them thanks.

Alderman Bright arrives to find Kerry trying to get Mrs. Hughes, an Alzheimer's patient, back to her bed.  She gives him a very big thank you for allotting the hospital all of the money.  She tells him that she just hopes that the hospital earned it on merit and not for any other reason.  Carter is in the lounge with the refrigerator door open.  As he closes it, he sees Abby leering at him.  She has brought him an envelope that was delivered and was told to give it right to him.  She asks him about why he is wanting to leave and he tries to explain as they walk out to see Dr. McNulty.  When Carter gets to McNulty, he hands him the envelope.  He opens it to see a check.  McNulty tells Carter that he can not accept it.  Carter asks him why and he tells him because there are too many zeros at the end of it.  Abby peeks down to see if she can see how much the check is for, but Carter gives her a stern look.  Carter tells him to use it to buy some new equipment, hire a nurse or a physician's assistant.  He thanks Carter for the money and then asks Abby if she would like a job.  Abby asks him if he has dental?

Luka and Weaver are arguing about Luka taking some time off.  Weaver tells him that he has already had plenty of time and that he cannot have any off.  Luka tells her that he needs some time to get himself straightened out.  She tells him again, NO!  Luka decides that he will just leave then and heads toward the ambulance bay doors.  On his way out, Gallant asks him to help him with a patient, Steven Rafferty, who is sixty-five-years-old and is having chest pains.  Luka tells him no and keeps on walking.  Carter goes to assist Gallant with the patient and Abby goes after Luka.  As she heads outside, she sees her brother Eric.  He tells her that he has been waiting out there for two hours and knew that she couldn't be too long from taking a smoke break.  "What are you doing here?", she asks.

Abby and Eric go to Doc Magoo's.  He orders coffee and she doesn't want anything.  He tells her good, that will save him some gas money.  He asks her how Carter is?  He likes Carter and she tells him that she does too.  There is a moment of silence and then the following conversation takes place:  "It was the disease.  I was scared.  I was afraid I was going to end up like mom.  I didn't want you to see me like that.  Like Maggie.  I never meant to hurt you.  If it wasn't for you, I don't know where I would be."  Eric finishes and Abby replies, "It wasn't your fault, you couldn't help it".  He tells her that she protected him for so long that it felt like he had let her down.  She tells him that it could never be true.  He wants her to know that sometimes he wishes that he was eight-years-old again.  Whenever things got bad, and they did get bad, he always knew that she would be there for him.  "And I always will be", she tells him with tears in her eyes.  He apologizes for not being there for her when she needed it.  He tells her that she deserves a better family and she smiles and chuckles.  He tells her that he is okay and the he had to get bad before he could get better.  "It's not over you know", she reminds him.  He asks her if she would like to see a picture of his new girlfriend?  He pulls out a picture and hands it to her.  "It's a plane", she says.  He tells her that he bought it after selling almost everything he had.  He wants to start up a fishing and hunting charter in Wisconsin.

Susan speaks with Helen, her young patient with abdominal pain, and tells her that she probably just has a virus.  She will need to go and visit her family doctor.  Jing-Mei sees Susan and asks her if she would like to go and get some dinner with her?  Susan tells her no, that she is going home to soak in the tub for three hours.  Susan hands her the sweater and thanks her for letting her borrow it.  She then tells Jing-Mei about using the Wood's lamp and finding some kind of stain on it.  Jing-Mei tells her that she had splashed some club soda on it earlier that day and that is why she had taken it off, so that it could dry.  Jing-Mei acts offended and asks Susan what did she think, I was the ER slut?  Jing-Mei heads into the lounge and throws the sweater into the garbage.

Nobody has claimed Biz's body and Carter stops to speak with Pratt.  He is concerned about Leon.  "He's a scared little kid, except he's not a little kid", Pratt tells Carter.  Carter tells Pratt that he thinks the cops are going to blame Biz for the cop shooting.  "If Leon went away for a while, I doubt anyone would go looking for him.  You ought to learn to let go.  Stop blaming yourself.  Tell Leon I said goodbye", Carter tells him.  Pratt sees Gallant and tells him that he needs a favor.

Carter asks Abby to go out with him for a romantic dinner.  She tells him that she can't.  Eric is here and he is on his meds, she tells him.  She is going with him to see his airplane.  Carter is shocked and surprised.  Carter doesn't want her to fly with him.  She tells him that she is supportive and not stupid.  He tells her that he has to drop off a prescription at McNulty's clinic and that he will talk to her later that night.  "Don't go flying with him", he tells her again.  "Don't go to Chechnya", she replies.

Romano walks in to find Elizabeth checking on his patient, Aidan.  He asks her what she is doing and she tells him that his resident asked her for a curbside.  She tells him that there was some nerve damage done, but he should only have some numbness in his thigh.  Romano walks out and asks Shirley, "Where's Jensen"?  She tells him that he is on the roof.  "To get a patient?", he asks.  "No, to jump", she replies.

Gallant has taken Leon to the bus station.  He is leaving to stay with Greg's Aunt Rose.  Leon is upset to find out that Pratt isn't going with him or that he didn't even come to say goodbye.  "He's mad at me", Leon tells Gallant.  "He's sending me away because I messed up", he says with tears in his eyes.  Gallant tells Leon that he has to get on the bus.  After telling him several times, Leon gets on and Gallant tells him to be safe.

Romano finds Jensen on the roof.  He tells Jensen not to jump, his car is down there, he jokes.  Romano tells him that he will do better the next time.  Jensen replies, "You're right, because I won't go into surgery with you".  Jensen heads to the elevator as Romano reflects on what he said.  Romano gets uneasy as a helicopter passes above.  He steps to the edge of the roof and looks down.  He tosses his bandana down and watches it float to the street.

Carter goes to McNulty's clinic, but can't get him to come to the door.  Carter bangs on it and yells his name, as a cop drives up and shines his light at Carter.  Carter explains that it is his patient inside and that he thinks he could be in danger.  The cop help Carter get into the building.  When they get in, they find the place abandoned, dirty and empty.  Carter tells him that McNulty has been a doctor there for over twenty years.  The officer tells him that it isn't possible, he has been patrolling the area for years and he was only there for a few weeks.  It was a Christian bookstore before that and something else before that.  The cop asks Carter if the guy was even a real doctor, as Carter stands in shock and confusion.  Pratt arrives home to an empty apartment.  Everything is still there, but it is empty without Leon.  Pratt sits down on the couch and reflects on what has happened.
