Mark is doing another ride along with the paramedics.  They are stuck in traffic, so they walk to the accident scene.  A man is unconscious in his vehicle and his dog is with him.  The dog does not want anyone near his owner.  Mark takes care of the dog as the paramedics help the man.  Mark ends up back at the ER with a dog bite.  He will be okay, but he needs an updated tetanus shot.  Randi comments to Kerry that she has the perfect interviewing outfit on.  She must have read the Cosmos Magazine.  Kerry denies it.  Carol tells Doug that she is three days late and has not gotten her period yet.  Doug gets worried.  Carter and Lucy take care of a magician named Jeff Whitcher who has inhaled flash powder.  Elizabeth learns who her new boss is.  It is Dale Edson and he seems to be a bigger pain than what Romano was.  Lucy has to take a body to the morgue.  She gets him on the elevator, but then she gets off to help someone  and the elevator doors close.  When the elevator comes back to the floor she is on, the body is gone.  Jeanie takes care of a little boy whose mother doesn't speak English.  His name is Angel Munoz.  His mother's relative tries to use her own social security number so that he can be seen.  Jeanie tells her that the county hospital treats everyone.  Jeanie has Dr. Kayson look at his charts and he sees that the boy needs surgery.   Lucy doesn't want Carter to know that she has lost the patient.  His twin brother shows up to get some jewelry off of him and she gets nervous.  She tells him that she will go to the morgue to get him.  Doug goes up to see Dana before she has her leg amputated.  Romano will be doing the operation.  Lucy goes to the morgue to see if the body has shown up and it has not.  Jeanie helps a man who looks like he has jaundice.  He tells her that he has had a liver transplant and is on the list for another.  Doug speaks to Anspaugh about Dana.  He is concerned about the pain she has in her leg and that she may still have pain after the surgery.  Romano tells him to stay out of it.  A young man has come in after being stabbed in a gang related fight.  His name is Bo and he is eighteen years old.  They can not keep him there, but Carol is concerned that if he leaves, he will fight again.  Lynette wants to sedate him so that he will not leave to act out his revenge on the gang member who stabbed him.  Carol tells her that it is unethical.  She has a guard placed in front of the exam room so that he will not leave until his mother arrives.  The guard does not do a good job watching him and he leaves.  Peter takes Reese to therapy, but Peter was not prepared of what his role would be in helping him out.  Kerry is interviewing for the Chief position today.  The other person who interviewed has the same looking outfit on as Kerry.  Lucy has to ask Carol for help again doing an IV.  The kid is dehydrated and she does not want to hurt him.  Doug gives Dana an epidural without Romano knowing.  He later tells him that this causes the surgery to have to be delayed for a few days.  Doug tells him that this gives her enough chance to decide on the procedure.  Lucy finally finds her dead patient.  A work crew had used his gurney as a table top to place their equipment on.  Doug has Carol do the IV for Lucy.  Jeanie tells her jaundiced patient that his lab results are back and she sees that he has been drinking.  This disqualifies him from getting on the list for a new liver.  Mark tells Kerry that her interview went great.  Randi helped her dress.  Dr. Kayson tells Jeanie that he can not help her with her young patient.  He is not a legal citizen and does not have any insurance.  Carol's stabbed patient comes back in.  This time he has been shot.  Lucy admits to Carter that she can not do an IV.  She tells him that she has not done one yet.  Jeanie tells Doug that she wants to be his full time PA.  She will speak with Anspaugh about it.  Carter finds Lucy on the roof.  He tells her to never lie to him again.  Carol tells Doug that she is not pregnant and he seems relieved.
