A man is brought in after being hit by a car.  He has cerebral palsy and it is hard for them to understand what he is saying.  Romano and Elizabeth have lunch to discuss her fellowship and him sponsoring her.  He also lets her know that he is interested in her.  She tells him that dating a colleague is against her policy.  Mark tells Kerry that the chemical has left him hypocalcemic.  That means that the fluoride is binding to the calcium and will eventually cause his heart to fail.  Mark tells him that he only has about twelve hours to live. Carter and Anna’s patient has a broken arm and a laceration on the hand and he will need surgery.  He keeps trying to communicate with them by banging his foot on the table, but they still don’t understand him. A six year old boy is brought in after his father accidentally backed over him with the car. The surgery goes well and the father is relieved to know that the boy will not die. Kerry accidentally learns that she has tested positive for HIV. She tells them about it and they think that it must be a mistake.  Daniel tells Kerry that he is not going to tell her about the AIDS, but Kerry tells him that if he doesn’t, then she will.  Carter and Anna finally figure out that he wants to use the phone to call someone who knows how to communicate with him.  They contact Katherine Dunlap, his personal assistant, and she comes to see him.  His name is Mr. Lorenzo and he speaks a different language.  That is why they could not understand him.  Elizabeth tells Peter about Romano asking her out and her turning him down. Mrs. Carter tells John that she agrees with him and will keep Chase at the institute.  She tells him that his grandfather would like him to run the family business, but Carter would rather be a doctor.  She understands.  Paul dictates a note to his daughter.  Carol reads it back to him and he dies.  Peter invites Elizabeth to go to a party with him for Reese.  He isn’t going to be ashamed of her.  Anna and Carter go outside for a break and a mysterious man comes out of a cab.  Anna goes to him and they hug.
