Carol
waked Doug up, his shift is over. They
are still sneaking around. Herb, Mark's
lawyer, is finished playing doctor. He
tells Mark that he is clear from the Law
family. Kerry wakes up in Ellis West's
hotel room. A homeless blind man is
brought in from a hit and run. Peter and
Anna are coming in and they rush to help with
him as he is being pulled out of the
ambulance. Peter asks the blind man
where it hurts and Peter then touches his head
to hold him still. As he does that the
blind man starts to see. He calls Peter
a miracle worker. Peter tells Anna that
he was never blind in the first place.
Later on, he leaves the hospital to go "see"
the world. He tells all of his homeless
friends about Peter. Henry is worried
about passing his clerkship. He wants
Carter to show him some emergency procedures.
Cynthia is upset because she has reached the
limit on her credit card. Mark offers to
pay her balance as her Christmas gift.
Kerry and Jeanie are still at odds. We
meet a new paramedic named Dean Powell.
Carter shows Henry how to do a procedure on a
man that has just died. An older woman
has been brought in. She has been raped
and beaten. She has the word "Whore"
written across her chest. Mark is
disturbed by this. Elizabeth and Romano
operate on Allison's leg. Jeanie asks
Kerry to help her get her meds, since she has
forgotten and left her medicine at home.
Kerry helps and this also help's their
friendship out. Allison comes out of her
coma, but she can not speak. Elizabeth
misses her trip to stay with her. She
tells Allison that her mother died in the auto
accident. Mark sees Cynthia wrapping
toys. She tells him that they are for
her 5 year old son. She doesn't get to
see her son much, he lives with her
ex-boyfriend. Mark is surprised.
Carter's rich grandmother comes to the ER with
her grandson Chase dressed as Santa. She
is there to see how Carol's clinic works.
A Christmas tree catches fire and Carol
extinguishes it. That causes the
sprinkler system to come on over Carol's head.
Elizabeth is feeling guilty about Allison's
condition. Peter's "miracle" patient is
brought back in. He can not see and
Peter's touch does not help him. He is
diagnosed with a brain tumor. Carter
catches his cousin
Chase
shooting heroin in the back of his
grandmother's limo, but he does not tell
"gamma". Millicent Carter is so
impressed that she gives Carol a check for
$150,000 for the clinic. Mark goes to see the
Law family. He tells them that he is
sorry about the death. He learned that
he would feel better if he would just forgive.
The rape victim taught him that forgiving is
better. Carol is tired of the secrecy
that she tells the whole staff that she and
Doug are together, but they all seem to have
known it anyway, with the exception of Anna
and Kerry. Ross then announces in front
of them all that he wishes for Carol to marry
him. Carter tells Henry that he has
passed his clerkship. Henry hugs Carter
and Anna, but he also gives her a kiss.
Jeanie and Kerry are getting along better now.
Most of the ER staff go outside and start
caroling the Christmas song, "Do you see what
I see?".

TV Guide Review
December 18, 1997: Do You See What I See?:
Miraculous events make for an unusually
thoughtful Christmas episode. First, Benton is
hailed as a miracle worker by a blind, homeless
man whose sight suddenly returns just as the
doctor touches his neck. Soon, other disabled
patients are lining up to see "Saint Peter."
Meanwhile, Greene is so strongly moved by the
plight of a 67-year-old rape victim that he
summons the courage to make a surprising
admission. Also, Jeanie and Weaver are forced to
put aside their pride — and their differences —
when an emergency situation develops in Jeanie's
life.
