Al
is in a good mood. He has talked with a
guy named Tommy in Atlanta, and he has a job
there for Al. Al wants Jeanie to go with
him, so that they can have a fresh start.
Nobody in Atlanta would have to know that they
have AIDS. Carol is nervous about the
Carter Family Foundation meeting tonight.
Mark is looking forward to having three days
off for vacation. It will start as soon
as his shift is over. Carter goes to
meet Anna at her apartment to work on their
journal. She lives in a roach invested
apartment and Carter is not too comfortable
there. He tells her that they can
continue at a restaurant over breakfast, his
treat. An artist was accidentally shot
in the leg during a gallery showing and he
will need surgery. A surgery had been
reschedule and Peter was not notified.
Corday took his place, but she offers to let
Peter take one of her patients that same day.
He agrees that this would be acceptable.
Anspaugh wants Kerry to go to a meeting with
S.P.G. (Synergix). They are an ER
management group and he wants her to go find
out as much as she can about them. A
teenage boy is brought in handcuffed after
having seizures on his way to juvenile hall.
Doug thinks he is faking it, so he gets Carol
to follow along with a scare tactic.
This convinces the boy to stop playing around.
Jeanie takes care of a man named Matthew
Lindermulder. He was working out and his
spotter fell asleep and dropped a free weight
on his head. Jeanie notices a Klan
tattoo on his chest. Anna takes care of
Vinnie. He has gonorrhea. Carter
tells Carol that he will miss the meeting
tonight, because he is going out with Anna.
Marked gets sued again. This time, he it
is a civil suit for him personally by Chris
Law. Kerry attends the Synergix meeting.
The speaker is Ellis West. Jeanie goes
to stitch her patient up. He tells her
that he is a born again Christian and has left
behind that part of his life. Ellis
invites Kerry out for lunch to answer some of
the questions she has about Synergix.
Mark and Carol take care of a woman with
Environmental allergies. Mark sees her
has a nut case and does not take the time to
listen to her problems. She ends up
walking out without getting any treatment.
Anspaugh tells Peter that Romano is looking
for a new surgeon for his team. Kerry
tells Ellis that she is going to have to get
rid of two PA's to save the ER's budget.
This means that Jeanie Boulet has to go.
Corday and Romano draw a large crowd and a
news crew. They are performing a rare
surgery that has never been done at County
before. Peter watches on and is upset.
An elderly man named Vincent Scarleti is
brought in. His wife is with him and she
is hard of hearing. Mark has a hard time
working on him with her in the room asking
questions, so he asks Carol to take her out.
Carter tells Anna that he is going to have to
cancel for their getting together tonight.
Something else has come up. Lydia tells
them that a patient is down outside and it is
Mark's allergy patient. Mark learns that
Mr. Scarleti has been sick for some time and
is going to die. He learned this the
last time he was seen at the ER, but he had
lied to his wife. Mark has to tell her
the truth, but she can not hear him. He
yells it at her, just as everything gets
quiet. Mark runs out of the ER.
Cynthia runs after him. Anspaugh gets
mad at Corday for doing an appendectomy
without his supervision. Peter had led
her to believe that this was acceptable.
He was paying her back because he thought she
had caused him the opportunity to do the
surgery with Romano. Carol tells Anna
about the Carter Family Foundation and how
rich Carter is. Anna is surprised and
she offers to go with Carol to the meeting.
Mark tells Cynthia about his attack and she
feels bad for him. He kisses her.
Kerry tells Jeanie about the ER's budget
problem and how she has to lay her off.
Jeanie was the last one hired, but she is
still very upset about it. Anna and
Carol go to Millicent Carter's humongous home.
It is a mansion. A butler answers the
door and offers them drinks. They see a
painting of Carter on his horse, Merigold.
Carter sees that Anna is there and is
surprised. Doug gets a phone call.
He looks upset and Lydia asks him if he is
okay and he says that he is. Millicent
wants to talk to Carol alone, so Carter takes
Anna on a tour of the estate. Anna is
not very happy with Carter. She feels
that he has lied to her by not telling her
about his family's fortune. Benton asks
Romano if he could use some extra hands on his
team. He tells him that he will think
about it. Doug goes to Mark's to check
on him. Cynthia answers the door in his
robe. He tells him that his dad has died
and he will need a few days off.
Millicent tells Carol that she reminds her of
herself. She gives her $75,000.00 to get
her clinic started. Kerry meets Ellis
again for a drink. Mark is going to go
with Doug to take care of his father's things.
He tells Carol that he loves her. As he
drives off, she tells him that she loves him
too.
