The ER is being filmed for a documentary. The
people who are doing this is Agi and Stuart
Orton. Benton has been on for 36 hours because
they are short a surgeon. Carter is back in
the ER. He has switched his residency from
surgery to emergency medicine. Anna Del Amico
was unaware of the filming going on. She does
not like the idea and does not want to be
filmed. She doesn't want the filming to cause
an ambush on the way doctor's treat their
patients. She ends up giving them permission.
A 37 year old man named Boz is brought in by
ambulance. He has cancer and is in respiratory
distress. He can not talk so Mark has to crike
him without consent. Kerry tells carter that
he is an intern. He has to start over as an
intern, since he left the surgical internship.
A teenager is brought in after being beaten
with a baseball bat for trying to leave a
gang. A 30 year old man is also brought in
after being pushed off a wall for trying to
stop the beating. The teenager, Chico, is
taken up to surgery by Benton.
The
man, Theo Williams, remains in the ER, and is
paralyzed. Mark is still upset after haven
been attacked only four months earlier. He
gets upset when the documentary crew asks him
about it.
Doug
and Anna take care of a baby girl who seems to
have been bitten by a dog. It ended up that
her brother had bitten her. Carter takes care
of an 82 year old man from a nursing home. His
name is George. Boz's wife Krista arrives and
tells Carter that Boz already has a DNR. Theo's
wife Ozella comes in to speak to him before he
is put on a respirator. Carter's patient goes
into full arrest. Carter tries to take care of
him himself, but he dies. Mark tells him that
he should have asked for help. The film crew
catches this on tape. Mark agrees to talk with
them if they do not use footage of Carter's
mistake. Elizabeth Corday arrives at the
hospital looking for Peter Benton. She is a
new surgeon from Britain. Dr. Morgenstern
comes to the ER looking for Kerry. He is
having chest pains, so she kicks the camera
crew out. They accuse her of showing him
preferential treatment and she chews them out.
A bloody man is brought into the ER after
falling through some glass. He tells them that
he is HIV-positive and not to get near him.
Jeanie goes to him and calms him down. Mark
finally talks to the documentary crew and
gives them insight on what has been going on
with him since his beating.

invades the ER to follow Dr. Greene (Anthony
Edwards) and his co-workers through a typical
day, everyone is self-conscious at first, but
gradually becomes accustomed to being taped.
While the cameras watch, Greene treats a
musician with esophageal cancer. Dr. Carter
(Noah Wyle) is embarrassed when the cameras
catch his undignified encounter with a patient.
Newly arrived from England, surgical resident
Dr. Elizabeth Corday (new series star Alex
Kingston, 'Moll Flanders') confuses everyone
with her unfamiliar medical terms. Dr. Ross
(George Clooney) and Nurse Hathaway (Julianna
Margulies) treat a toddler who appears to have
been bitten by the family dog. Greene and Dr.
Del Amico (new series star Maria Bello, 'Mr. &
Mrs. Smith') treat a man who received a severe
injury while trying to save a teenage boy from a
vicious gang beating. When Dr. Morgenstern
(William H. Macy) becomes suddenly ill while
cameras are in the room, Dr. Weaver (Laura Innes)
is concerned about his privacy. Eriq La Salle
and Gloria Reuben also star.
