mother mentions going shopping. Carol is
pouring herself a glass of milk and she is
out, so she heads to the store for some more.
She speaks to the mail man and a little boy
who calls her Ms. Hathaway. In the
store, Mr. Duzak is telling the bread man, Mr.
Lockhart about his wife and her medicine that
she needs. He is unable to help him out.
Carol goes back to get her milk and she hears
a confrontation at the front counter.
Two men with guns are asking for money and
Carol bends down to hide. The old man,
Mr. Novotny, and his wife that own the store
are scared. Another customer walks in
and sees what is going on and he runs out.
The one gunman runs to go after him before he
leaves the store and Mr. Novotny shoots
and hits him. He also shoots inside the
store and hits a coffee maker and it bust and
burns a ladies hand. The other one
shoots back and hits Mr. Novotny. His
wife runs to him to see if he is okay.
There is blood everywhere. The one man
that ran out goes to a police car that was
sitting right up the street. The two men
are now trapped inside and do not know how
they can get out without the police getting to
them. The gunmen's names are James and
Duncan. They are cousins. James is
from America and Duncan is visiting him from
out of the country. There are a few
people stuck in the store with them.
Carol, Angie, Robert, Mr. Lockhart, and Mr.
Duzak.
The
store owner is bleeding really bad.
Duncan asks Angie what she does and she tells
him that she is a first grade teacher.
Carol doctor's her burned hand. Robert
Potter is a ten year old boy who was playing a
pin ball game while in the store. He has
hidden under the game and Carol tries to get
him to come to her. Duncan comes to see
what is going on. He has Carol check on
his cousin when he finds out that she is a
nurse. She then checks on Mr. Novotny.
Carol tells Duncan that they both need medical
attention by a doctor. James is bleeding
badly, but he doesn't want any doctor coming
in. She gets supplies from the store to
help both victim's out. The police are
calling on the phone and using a megaphone to
communicate with.
Carol
has to get help with CPR for Mr. Novotny.
She gets help from his wife and from Angie.
He dies after they try to help him. His
wife has Carol stop working on him because she
knows that it is too late. Duncan and
Carol drag him to the back office.
Robert says that he is going to throw up and
needs to go to the restroom. Duncan lets
him. He is upset about having killed a
man. Carol sees that a stock boy
is still in the back of the store room hiding.
His name is Javier and he tells Carol about
some keys to a back door. Carol tells
him to be quiet and she will try to get them.
Duncan is worried because it has been a while
since he has heard from Robert in the
bathroom. He refuses to come, but he
lets Carol come in. Duncan makes Robert
stand at the pinball machine and when he turns
away, he escapes by hopping on the machine and
going up into the ceiling tiles. Duncan
tries to get him, but he falls down on to the
pinball machine and cuts up his face.
Carol now has to fix him up. She tells
him that James will die of blood loss if he
does not get to a hospital.
Carol
tells Duncan that she needs to get some glue
from behind the counter to fix his cuts with
and she grabs the keys that are up there.
Duncan is feeling bad about haven killed a man
and Carol tells him that she knows how he
feels. She tells him about having killed
the homeless man by giving him the wrong
blood. Javier sneaks out from the store
room with a baseball bat in hand. Duncan
catches on and learns about the back door.
Duncan sees this as an opportunity to escape,
but he needs a hostage to take with him.
He chooses Carol. Just as he is letting
Carol go, a police shows up with a gun.
He tells Duncan to drop his gun, but he
doesn't and the police shoots him three times.
Carol yells to call a paramedic. Duncan
and his cousin are brought in to the ER.

seems a sad about him and as if she cared for
him. Doug asks her how she is and she
tells him that she is okay. Kerry goes

GUEST-STARS AS A DESPERATE GUNMAN -- Nurse
Hathaway (Julianna Margulies) is among those
shopping at a family-owned convenience store
when a robbery attempt goes awry. The store
owner injures one of the robbers, James (guest
star Currie Graham), and is badly wounded
himself when the second robber, Duncan (Ewan
McGregor), panics and takes everyone hostage.
While police cars gather outside the store,
Hathaway must use her medical skills and the
crude implements available in the store to keep
the wounded alive and to maintain calm among the
hostages and the gunmen. She finds unlikely
support from her 10-year-old neighbor, Robert
(guest star Mason Gamble, 'Dennis the Menace').
Meanwhile, Dr. Ross (George Clooney) and the
hospital staff anxiously await word as the
crisis unfolds.
