Today
is Susan's last day before she leaves for
Phoenix. Mark takes a look at Susan's
apartment because he is wanting to lease it
after Susan leaves. The landlady is
really going to miss such a good tenant.
Doug and Chuny are manning the health mobile
for the day.
Charlie shows up looking for Doug. She
wants him to look at a baby she has been
looking after. The baby, Ahmed Lopez,
needs extra care, but Doug does not know where
to find him or Charlie. Kerry is upset
that Susan is leaving them short staffed.
Mark isn't looking good today. Everyone
asks him how he is feeling and he replies that
he must be coming down with something.
Megan Herlihy, the baby Pete almost killed, is
being discharged with her family today.
The father takes pictures of them with Abby
and reluctantly Peter who still feels guilty
about the whole thing. Carter and Abby
are still sneaking around. They don't
need anyone to find out that they are
romantically involved, especially Peter.
Carol goes to her boss, Mary Cain, and tells
her that they want to quit floating the ER
nurses. She tells Carol that the budget
is being cut and they need to help out in
different areas. The nurses think
this idea stinks. Maggie takes care of a
pregnant woman who is drunk. She is
having contractions and tells everyone that
she is going to kill herself and take the baby
with her. This makes Maggie very angry
so she calls a cousin who works at the police
department. Mark and Kerry find out
about it and tell her that this was a bad
move. Dr. Keaton tries to teach Peter
some visualizing techniques to use while
performing surgery on small children.
Peter
later has a hard time during surgery and has
to step back. Carter gets to meet Carla
Reece after she comes in looking for Peter.
Lydia and Al finally get married after she
wants to leave him for not committing.
They get married in the ER with quite a few
interruptions. Susan catches the
bouquet. The staff plan a surprise
farewell party for Susan, but something comes
up and nobody can come. Susan goes
around the ER, but everyone is too busy to
tell her goodbye. Al gives Jeanie
divorce papers.
Mark realizes that she has
left and Doug tells him to go after her and
tell her how he feels. He arrives at the
train station as it is about to leave and she
is glad to see him. He tells her to stay
and that he loves her. She somehow
already knew it, but she has to go. She
tells him that he is her best friend and that
she will never forget him. They kiss
goodbye. As the train pulls away, she
tells Mark that she loves him too.
