Mark comes in to work riding on his motorcycle.  He is growing a goatee and wearing tinted contact lenses.  Malik and Wendy have called in sick, so a nursing temp comes in, it is Carol Hathaway.  She is trying to supplement her income since her shifts have been cut back.  Carter is nervously sick because he is to be finding out if he will be getting qualification for internship (Match).  Susan and Chloe meet to talk.  She tells her that she has been clean for five months and that she is engaged.  She wants to be a mother to her daughter.  Susan tells her that is too bad.  Carol learns that Jeanie Boulet got the ER employee of the month.  Peter takes care of a young man who has hurt his leg in an accident.  His grandfather, Mr. Bowman, is with him.  After X-rays, Benton notices that the boy has a tumor in his knee.  He pulls the boy's charts and sees that he was seen 4 months ago by Doug Ross and he did not detect the tumor.  If her would have seen it, the boy's leg could have been saved.  Carter learns that he has matched in the ER and he skips out on his patient and goes to celebrate with Harper.  Susan gets slapped by a patient's mother.  Susan gets a page to come to day care.  She thinks something is wrong and has Mark call security.  When she gets up there, she sees Suzy take her first steps.  The hospital's legal counsel suggests that Doug should not tell Mr. Bowman about missing the tumor.  Doug still has to tell Mr. Bowman that they have found a tumor and that he wants to get them some help.  Peter learns about this and ends up telling Mr. Bowman himself.  Mark waits for Peter to get off and he  tells him that the only reason he owned up about this was because he was guilty over hiding his own feelings about Vucelich and was trying to make up for it somehow.  Mark takes care of a director and producer of infomercials.  She really seems to like him, but he later finds out that she needs a bald actor for one of her programs.  Carter comes back to work drunk and Dr. Hicks tells him that this is grounds for expulsion.  Shep is still feeling bad about Raul's death and he is showing this by being to his new partner Reilly Brown.  Chloe is waiting for Susan when she comes home.  She tells her that her lawyer is going to work on her getting visitation rights.  Susan tells her that she is going to adopt Suzy.

NBC Review

LEWIS'S CHOICE -- Dr. Lewis's erratic sister Chloe (Kathleen Wilhoite) returns, claiming five months of sobriety. Lewis, however, refuses to trust her and refuses to turn over baby Susie. Benton ignores hospital policy and betrays Dr. Ross in the process. Carter lets his personal life interfere with proper patient care.
