Shep
wakes up at Carol's house and it is freezing.
The snow is falling inside from the hole in
the roof that he had left while getting rid of
some old shingles. The recovery room
staff come down to the ER to Carroll.
The ER staff is suppose to go up later to
return the favor. Mark goes for a
deposition regarding the O'Brien case. A
woman is brought into the ER after her car is
carjacked. She is a survivor
of a Jewish Holocaust camp. Her name is
Hanna Steiner and she asks Mark where her
granddaughter is, she was in the back seat of
the car. The police go search for her.
She asks Mark to say a prayer with her.
Carter talks to a patient's wife who is
nervous about a surgery with Vucelich.
He is able to calm her down so that she will
agree to the surgery. Vucelich is
impressed and tells him that he can scrub in.
Susan invites Mark to go to Cookie and Henry's
with her and Suzy for the holidays. A
man comes in looking for Kerry. It is an
old African friend of her's named Mlungisi.
They have a passionate kiss and she leaves
early. Al and Carter both buy ear rings
for their girl friends for Christmas. A
priest has been shot and brought in by some
young men. A baby is found and brought
in. It is the granddaughter of the
elderly woman. The whole family comes
and Mark celebrates Hanukah with them.
Carol goes upstairs to sing by herself since
nobody else wants to go with her. While
she is singing "The Twelve Days of
Christmas", the others come up and join
her in butchering the song. Mark tends
to a man and his sick wife. They are Mr.
and Mrs. Rubadoux. He tells Carter to
call him Ruby. He tells Vucelich that
she would be good for his study. The ER
gang goes to Carol's for a Christmas party and
Shep tells her that he loves her.
