It is Valentines Day and a little Russian girl named Tatiana is brought in.  She has recently been adopted and has been running a fever for over a week.  Al, the cop, rushed in with someone he hit with his car; it is a dog.  The ER staff work on him and Carter gives him mouth-to-mouth.  Mrs. Hall is the woman who has adopted Tatiana; she leaves and nobody knows where she is.  We find out that Tatiana has pneumonia and AIDS.  Carol speaks Russian, because her mother is Russian, and she speaks to Tatiana.  Mark and Jen are still fussing.  He is having to sleep on the couch.  Three cheerleaders are brought in.  They have eaten chocolates that were laced with LSD.  Deb steals some, not knowing what they are, and she is spaced out for the entire episode.  Dr. Kayson comes down and gives Susan a bouquet of flowers and asks her out, but she tells him that she has plans already.  He wants her to be his valentine.  A boy gets hit by a train and has a seizure in the ER.  Wendy has her hand crushed by him, but a stoned Deb get s to bandage it up.  The 17 year old boy dies.  A man and his son are brought in.  They have attacked each other with meat hooks.  Tatiana witnesses the trauma, but Carol comforts her.  Jake comes in looking for Dr. Ross.  He complains of his stomach aching and his side hurting.  He is just faking it; he wants his mom and Ross to get together.  She says he does this all of the time.  Mrs. Hall shows back up.  Carol tells her that she will probably not get to take Tatiana back after having abandoned her in the ER.  She tells her that she does not want her back.  She lost her husband 3 years ago and can't stand the thought of losing someone else.  She did not know that she had AIDS when she adopted her.  She has brought her things and then she leaves without saying goodbye.  Peter has bought his mother roses and chocolates for Valentines day, but Ross thinks they are for a secret girl friend of his.  He takes them home to his mom, but she has already fallen a sleep.  Susan and Mark go ice skating and he tells her about his job offer.

HAVE A HEART -- On Valentine's Day, a mother (Meg Foster) leaves her AIDS-stricken adopted, Russian daughter (Milana Vayntrub) in the ER. After hitting a dog, Officer Grabarsky (Michael Genovese) brings the injured animal in and pleads with the ER docs to save it. Dr. Kayson, a married man, comes on to Lewis. Carter and Chen treat three cheerleaders after eating LSD-laced Valentine's candy. Chen unknowingly eats a piece of the candy, which affects her ability to treat patients.
