Susan is having trouble with Dr. Kayson and will have to meet with Morganstern about it.  Peter introduces Carter to a new 3rd year med student named Deb.  Mark is shocked to hear Doug turn down a woman's advances.  Carol reaches in to remove a homeless man's shoe and gets stuck by a needle.  The US Customs officials bring in a man who has swallowed a half a kilo of cocaine.  They want Mark to give him a laxative, but he can't without the mans approval.  Kayson is bringing disciplinary actions against Susan.  Morganstern tells her that she needs to be more assertive toward the other doctors when they challenge her.  Susan finds out that Mark has spoken with Morganstern and this upsets her.  She also finds out that Mark has to sign off on all of her charts.  A little boy is brought in by his father.  He has a bad case of pneumonia and Doug is taking care of him.  He has brain damage from being hit by a car two years earlier.  The boys condition is hard on his father who has to be with him all the time.  The father tells Doug that he wants a DNR order put on the boy.  Doug has a hard time understanding why the father is like this.  The father is tired and wants to get on with his life.  He asks Doug if he has any kids and Doug replies that he has a son who is eight.  Carter has Deb give the man from Customs a rectal exam.  Deb has never done one before and is kind of rough on him.  Benton's other is missing, but he finds her watching kids ice skate outside where he and his sister use to play.  Walt and Jackie want to put her in a nursing home because they can not take care of her and work at the same time.  She tells Peter that she doesn't want to go in a nursing home.  The man from customs has a bag of the cocaine bust inside of hi and his heart stops.  Mark, Deb and Carter rush in to use the paddles on him.  Deb turns to hand them to Mark and hits Carter with the electric paddles.  Carter falls and hits his head and knocks himself out.  Wendy tells Doug that she didn't know he had a son.  She asks him what his name is and he tells her that he does not know, he has never seen him before.  Mark apologizes to Susan and tells her that everyone is meeting at Doc Magoo's after work.  When everyone gets there, Carol announces that she and Tag have set the wedding date to May 18th.  Everyone congratulates her and Doug proposes a toast.  Susan did not show up.  We see her sitting outside of Magoo's in her VW looking on.  Then she drives away.
