Mark
get awaken by his chirping beeper. He
has to bring Rachel to work with him since the
babysitter has car problems. It is going
to be a hot 102 degrees in Chicago and the air
conditioning is out in the hospital. A
stabbed pizza delivery man drives his truck
right through the front doors of the emergency
room. We later find that it is only a
small scratch. He replies, "It was
a really big knife". A five year
old girl is brought in with what appears to be
congestive heart failure. Susan's sister
Chloe has come to see her. She has lost
her apartment and will need somewhere to stay.
Their parents do not want her there with them,
so Susan reluctantly agrees to let her stay
with her. Ivan is back in the E.R. after
shooting the guy who usually shoots him.
It is a 14 year old kid. Ivan shot him
multiple times in the back as he was fleeing
the store. The boy didn't even have a
gun on him. We find out that the little
girl doesn't have congestive heart failure,
she has overdosed on cocaine. Doug right
away accuses the father and calls social
services. Langworthy comes down to help
Peter with the young gun shot victim.
Mark lets Rachel visit with the little girl
Kanesha.
Doug apologizes
to Carol for showing up at her apartment the
other day. He ends up in the elevator
along with Tag. Tag tells him that he
understands him wanting to still be with
Carol. We meet Linda Farrell, a rep for
Novell Pharmaceuticals. She comes in and
acts as if she knows everyone. She looks
at their name badges and starts up a
conversation with them all. She is there
to meet with Dr. Greene, but Susan brushes her
off. Doug doesn't mind speaking with her
though. Tag asks Carol to move in
together again. Susan finds her locker
has been opened and some credit cards stolen.
Chloe has been at it again. Susan asks
Div to speak with her, but he declines.
Susan tells him to tell her that he is her
boyfriend and he seems to get offended by it.
Ivan is really concerned about the boy he has
shot. Peter has to tell him that the boy
died. Susan gets verbally abused by an
HIV patient that she had helped earlier.
He has asked her for some financial help and
she refuses. He then yells at her until
Jerry comes and removes him. Connie
speaks to Doug about how he has wrongfully
judged Kanesha's father of being a drug addict
and letting her get into the cocaine.
Doug thinks about it and does as she suggests.
He gives the father and her older sister a
drug test. The father's came back
negative, but the sister's came back positive.
He says that she has been having a hard time
since her mother passed away. He asks
Doug if he has any kids and Doug replies that
he had a son. Susan comes home to find
the apartment left unlock and the cat is out.
The refrigerator door is left open and the
stove is on. She walks into the living
room and finds her entertainment system
missing. She sits down and cries.
Div walks in and tells her that he will talk
with Chloe and get her some help.

TAKE YOUR PERSONAL ISSUES TO WORK DAY - When
Dr. Green's babysitter cancels, he's forced to
bring his daughter Rachel to work with him.
While doctors Benton and Langworthy (Tyra
Ferrell) try in vain to save a boy shot in
self-defense, Greene and Ross save a young girl
who swallowed her sister's cocaine. Later, a
pizza delivery man crashes his car through the
ER doors. Meanwhile, Lewis's broke sister, Chloe
(Kathleen Wilhoite), steals Lewis's TV and VCR.
After Ross crosses the line with Hathaway and
Taglieri (Rick Rossovich), Hathaway slugs Ross.
