A
woman who is 7 months pregnant is brought in
from a car accident. Jen tells Mark
that she has gotten a job clerking for a
federal judge in Milwaukee. The pregnant
woman goes in to premature labor and Doug
sends her upstairs to O.B. The woman who
hit her is a dope addict and has no idea what
is going on. She ends up dieing from a
aortic rupture, but nobody seems to care.
Carter is concerned that is has contracted a
venereal disease. His test results end
up being posted on the bulletin board for
everyone to see and laugh about.
Mark takes care of a building supplies
salesmen named Sam Gasner. He has been
brought in for heart problems. He tells
Mark that he is on a list for a heart
transplant. He comes in and out of
consciousness all through the night. His
family is called in because they do not expect
him to live through the night without a
transplant. His family arrives and they
get to say their good byes before he passes.
This makes Mark think about his own situation.
Ivan the liquor store owner is brought in
again. He has accidentally shot himself
in the foot. Susan shows Carter how to
intubate. The kid had been drinking all
night and has to be out on dialysis.
This angers Susan. Mark goes home and
tells Jen that he will move. She tells
him that he doesn't have to because she knows
he wouldn't be happy.

HAVE A HEART - Dr. Greene tries to help a man
waiting for a heart transplant hold on until his
family arrives. Meanwhile, Greene's wife gets an
out-of-state job offer. Dr. Ross (GEORGE
CLOONEY) treats a young girl for asthma and when
he learns her family can't afford the medicine
he gives it to her anyway. Later, on his way
home, he rescues a pregnant woman from a car
accident. Carter gets surprising results from an
STD test. Lewis (SHERRY STRINGFIELD)
resuscitates a college student who almost drank
himself to death.
