Season 1
In the first Season Susan is a Second Year Resident, she is caring and good at her job but is not the most forceful person in the world.
Susan has a failed relationship with Div a psychiatrist, the last we see of him he is standing in the middle of the road in the rain.
She also has issues with Dr. Kayson, until she saves his life.
Susan has a
strong friendship with the young John Carter.
Susan has continual trouble with her sister Chloe, who is often high on drugs and drunk, this all culminates when Chloe announces that she is pregnant.
Episode 22 - Chloe has a little girl, who she names Little Suzy after Susan.
Season 2

Late one night while high on drugs Chloe goes off with some unknown 'friend' leaving Susan to look after little
Suzy. Susan struggles looking after Little Suzy but eventually manages and considers adopting Little
Suzy.
Chloe eventually returns, clean of drugs and having started a new life with Joe a policeman. Susan is reluctant to give Little
Suzy back but eventually has to.
Chloe and Little Suzy move away.
Susan and Kerry do not see eye to eye on a lot of things. Mark often has
to intervene.
Season 3
Susan eventually follows Chloe and Little Suzy, her leaving forces Mark to chase her to the Station to announce that he loves her, which Susan already knows, she still leaves.
Season 8

Susan returns to the ER and soon finds herself attracted to Dr. Carter.
They fool around for only a short time, because she realizes that there is
an attraction between Carter and Abby. Susan gets a concerning call
from her niece Susie and has to fly out to New York to help find her.
Chloe is back on drugs and we are not sure what is going to happen with her
and Susie. Susan feels bad that she didn't spend more time with Mark
before he passes away. She and Abby end up being pretty friendly with
each other.
Season 9
Susan takes leadership during the lockdown of the ER causing her
appearance to be more widely known.
Susan gets married. She ends up getting the marriage to Chuck, the
flight nurse, annulled, but they continue to "fool around".
Season 10
Susan has taken her position in the ER more seriously now that
Weaver is not around as much. She helps Weaver out by keeping an
eye on things in the ER and she is still fooling around with her
ex-husband Chuck. This all leads to an unexpected pregnancy.
Lewis is also at a restaurant with Chuck and gets sexually
harassed by a man that loves pregnant women causing Chuck to
assault him. Susan is limited to mobility due to her pregnancy and
is force to bed rest. Susan delivers a baby boy that she names
Cosmos.
Season 11
Susan returns back to work after having her and Chuck’s son Cosmo.
She asks Dr. Weaver if the Chief of Emergency Medicine position
was still open yet and later takes it. She and Weaver were quite
shaky throughout most of the season between her surprise drill
that she has everyone participate in and her staff’s low patient
scores. Susan learns that being higher on the latter means getting
involved in politics with lawyers and patients unusual treatment
wishes. Toward the end of the season observe her helping the
impatient Morris and competing for tenure with Carter. She is
disappointed however that she does not get tenure and has a verbal
fight with Carter.
Susan is doing more administrative work in the ER and tries to
spend as much time with her toddler as she can.
Season 12
Susan has Abby, Ray and Neela run the boards and critique them as
they do. She also has Haleh help her keep an eye on Ray during a
procedure which causes Ray to disagree on Haleh’s opinion on how
the trauma went. She then tells Ray that if anyone knows what is
going on its Helah. Susan leaves County General for a second time
due to a tenure offer in Iowa City.
