Season 4
An arrogant Surgeon. He is funding Corday's fellowship in Chicago. Romano tells Corday he cannot finance her next year, maybe following her rejecting him when he asks her out ?
Romano gives Corday a hard time because of her interest in Peter Benton.
Season 5
Romano is still interested in Corday, making strange comments about things like 'sniffing her tailpipe'!!. Romano threatens to reveal
Corday's previous relationship with Dr Benton when Corday is asked to testify against him following
Doyles' complain of sexual
harassment.
Becomes the Acting ER Chief when Anspaugh mentions he cannot cope with being Acting Chief as well as his other jobs. Much to the dismay of the ER staff.
Season 6
Romano becomes Chief of Staff after Anspaugh gives up the job to concentrate on surgery and his daughter.
Announces that Elizabeth Corday is his assistant without asking her.
Collapses in the OR, he is passing a kidney stone. Peter closes up for him and earns himself a personal
favor from Romano.
Romano (and Corday) operate on Romano's dog Gretel who has an
Insulinoma. Romano shows strong feelings for his pet dog and is teased by Elizabeth, Shirley and the Theatre staff.
Romano and Corday spend most the episode in the OR in an unsuccessful attempt to save
Lucy's life.
Season 7
Continues to be as insensitive as he can be as
the Chief of Staff.
Season 8
Still
acting like the boss, because he is and he can.
He shows great compassion to Elizabeth when
she struggles with Mark's decision to not
continue with his tumor treatment.
Season 9
Romano loses his arm from a helicopter blade
incident. He has to quit surgery and
spends more time bothering the staff in the ER.
Season 10
Romano loses his life from a helicopter that
crashes down on him.
